My name is John Adams Hollingsworth. I’m one of the 25 grandchildren of Lucy Little Adams and John Quincy Adams. I knew her as my first cousin “Sissy”. She was a happy person to be around. I would visit her when my mother, one of 8 daughters would’ visit her family in Shreveport. She, Sissy, would always watch out for me, take me to the movies or play outside. I could go on and on, but the only thing that is important is to remember Sissy was one of the special people  and I will always remember her. 

My cousin, Sissy, was a sweet and generous girl. I remember her taking me to a Walt Disney movie in downtown Shreveport in the early 1950’s. She held my hand so I wouldn’t get lost. I miss her still. Love you, Sissy. Your cousin, Johnny Hollingsworth 

Nelda McCala was my cousin. I can remember many things about Sissy McCalla. This one was way before she became Mrs. Dennom. She was in her early teens. I was probably around six or seven and visiting my mother’s family in Shreveport. Sissy(Nelda) took me to see “Pinnochio” a Walt Disney animated movie. She was a great cousin and I remember her fondly.

Gary, now age 80, still remembers the holiday family gatherings at Dorothy and Ethel's which were attended by Sissy, Sandra,Charlotte, other cousins and aunts and uncles.  Each family brought their specialty covered dish, as many will do this coming Thanksgiving, and each room held several card tables for the huge group that arrived. Sissy was the smallest of the 3 girls, and was a lovely lady. She will be missed.

Cousin Sissy as she will always be known I think was truly my mothers best friend.  She had an infectious smile and a glimmer in her eye that put you at ease - that without acknowledgement, good or bad, you were ok in her book.  She always told me with a wink that all of her students named "Chris" were bad.  I have to say Nelda Lee 35 years or so later.....you're right, I haven't run across a good one yet ;-)

Thinking of Sissy's family.  So sorry for your loss.

Sissy was a joy to be with, and we loved her in the 'Southern Belle Red Hatters". She cared about others in a special way and prayers are with her family, friends and loved ones. She has a place in our hearts, and will make those on other side have more fun. Love and Sympathy, Beth Foster

It was just a special time when we would visit...she and Billy would share such wonderful memories of the McCalla Family and Fairpark High School... recalling stories with smiles and laughs...seeing pictures of her family and just so proud of her grandchildren... and just filled
with the love and joy of being with
Sissy. 
    I know that Sissy was welcomed home
to God's "arms of Love" in Heaven, and surrounded by so many ...family and friends rejoicing there to welcome her "Home". What a celebration!
   We are all so grateful for the gift of the McCalla Family in Billy's life, our lives. Pictures and stories have been passed on to our children and family.  Sandy thank you for your special thoughtfulness for Billy especially in his college years. 
     May God Bless all of Sissy's family during this sad and difficult time and give you peace in your hearts.

She still had that sweet smile, which I'm sure was enjoyed by so many - especially the chidren - through the years. I grew up with Sissy and Charlotte and always remember them fondly. Remembering you in my prayers -
