Michael Van Saunders

Services to celebrate the life of Michael Van Saunders, 48, will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Thursday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Michael was born on July 16, 1966, in Shreveport, LA and entered into rest at his home on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Michael was a very loving and caring man who would give you the shirt off of his back or even his last dollar. He loved hanging out grilling with friends, and listening to music. Mike graduated high school in 1984 from Grawood Christian Academy and went on to be a jack of all trades from installing home alarms to carpentry work.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Saunders; mother, Georgia Ruth Carroll McKinney; uncles, Randy Carroll, Jay Waters and Jim Waters; Grandparents, George Carroll, Peggy Carroll Waters, Jessie Waters, Tom and May Young. Left to cherish his memory is his father, Glenn McKinney; sister, Whitney Saunders Williams and husband Jerry Williams, Sr., niece, Sherie Williams; nephew, Jerry Williams, Jr. and wife, Katie Lewis Williams; aunt. Patricia Carroll Townsden and husband Jeff; uncle, Otis Carroll; aunt, Mary McKinney James and husband Don; and several cousins and numerous friends.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Savell, Jerry Williams Sr., Jerry Williams Jr., John Petty, Glen Muncey, and Lloyd Carter.
