Mattie Eugenia Ferguson

SHREVEPORT, LA – Mattie Eugenia Ferguson, 89, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Wednesday evening between the hours of 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mattie was born on Marach 19, 1923, in Haynesville, LA to parents Clyde E. and Ruby (Davis) Ingram. She had been a Shreveport resident since 1947, coming from Natchitoches, LA. Mattie was a retired Registered Nurse and had served in this capacity at Confederate Memorial Hospital, Schumpert Medical Center, and finishing her career at LSU Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents and all six of her siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul Ferguson and wife, Linda, David Ferguson, Glen Ferguson, Doris Bradley and husband, Dave, and Nancy Kossina and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Eric and Brent Kossina, John and Tracie Ferguson, Aaron Ferguson, and Heather Richie; and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Ferguson to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, 2307 Texas St., Shreveport, LA 675-2400.
