Mary Deck Hawks

Mary Beatrice Deck Hawks, age 74 of Shreveport Louisiana, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. She was born on December 28, 1948 in Picayune, Mississippi to the late Bill and Freda Deck. Mary was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a true caregiver to her family and anyone in need. Mary "B" loved her family fiercely, living life to the fullest and we mean THE FULLEST! She was always the life of the party. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mary was preceded in passing by her parents, her husband of 50 years (Jack), sister (Laura), and brother (Craig). Left to cherish Mary's wonderful memories are her four children: Beth McCash (Charles), Bill Hawks (Donita), Freda Pattillo (Christopher), and Gina Morgan (Adam); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.

Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be: Ryan Woods, Joel Hawks, Micah Davis, Adam Morgan, Jack Pattillo, and Christopher Pattillo.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Dr. P.V. Blanchard. They would also like to recognize the staff of St. Joseph Hospice, with a special thanks to Paige Sumrall for the professional support, friendship, and excellent care provided to Mary. Thank you Paige, for providing a shoulder to cry on during our time of need.

A graveside celebration for Mary will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, 220 Hamill Street, Oil City, Louisiana 71061.
