Martha Ryan of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023 at the age of 76, surrounded by her family. Martha was born December 6, 1946 in Winnfield, Louisiana to Joseph and Lottie Jenkins. She grew up in Winnfield, LA but made Shreveport her home for most of her adult life.
Martha loved cooking and shopping, especially QVC, and spending time with friends and family. Her love for family was only second to her love for Jesus. She couldn't wait to see Him and never missed a chance to tell someone about Jesus. Martha was a long time member of Brookwood Baptist Church and she loved her church family, especially the wonderful ladies in her Sunday school class led by Marilyn Huber.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lottie Jenkins; sister, Nancy Wilson.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Teresa Gatti (Tom) and Lori Perry (Kevin); grandchildren, Justin Brown (Robin), Kristopher Perry and Hannah Perry; great-grandchildren, Arabella, Talon, Tinsley and Grayson. She is also survived by three nieces and several other extended family members.
A Visitation for Martha will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Bro. John Harp officiating. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Kevin Perry, Thomas Gatti, Kristopher Perry, Donny Stroud, Ted Stroud and Ken Kaffka. Interment will be in Centuries Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nursing staff at Willis Knighton Pierremont, sixth floor stroke unit.
