Marilyn was a devoted wife, loving mother and caring grandmother. She was a dedicated housewife that always took care of her children and grandchildren. She loved camping and traveling but most of all she adored spending time with her family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Thompson; her father Patrick Joseph Granahan and her mother Mary Olivia Lynn Granahan.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Thompson (Judy Thompson); Michelle Grappe (Ted); Sharon Boggs; her son's Guy Thompson (Kathy); and Garry Thompson (Julie); her grandchildren Amber Bynog, Terry W. Willis, Melanie Holmes, Robin Nguyen, Tiffany Busch, Timothy Thompson, Christopher Thompson and Stephen Grappe. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Jesse Bynog, Theron Thompson, Willow Thompson, Stone Thompson, Kaitlin Grappe, Colton Grappe, Keegan Nguyen, Bennett Holmes, Gabriel Holmes and Bella Busch.
A visitation for Marilyn will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at St Mary of the Pines, 1050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, Louisiana 71118, followed by a Mass of christian burial at 2:00 PM. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Officiating the service will be the Very Reverend Mark Watson. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Stephen Grappe, Timothy Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Michael Busch, Michael Holmes, David Nguyen, Shawn Bynog and Jesse Bynog.
The family would like to give thanks to Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, St. Mary's of the Pines, Willis Knighton South Medical Staff, Dr. Prime, and a special thanks to her neighbors, Ricky and Phyllis Belk and Jimmy and Leesa Sitter.
