Mae Reynolds Barber was born on August 18, 1943 to Allen Carson Reynolds and Iler Dick Reynolds in Ashland, Louisiana and passed away on August 17, 2017 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 73 after a long battle with cancer.
Mae enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, doing art projects, and gardening. She had a love for owls and was an avid collector of anything owls. Where Ms. Mae went, her three daughters were not far behind. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was employed at Crown and CDS Dental Labs as a ceramist. Mae always participated in donation and loved to help people however she could. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, August 19, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A service celebrating the life of Ms. Mae will be held at Centuries Memorial Chapel on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Dr. Howard Hall will be officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Kristopher Mercer, Robert Williams Jr., Trent Daugherty, Kenneth (Kent) Price Jr., and Roy Poland; her nephew, Roy Brammer, and family friend, Cody Straughan.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Reneé Barbo Price and husband Kenneth G. Price of Henderson, Tx., Dianne Barbo Nation of Shreveport, LA., Kim Barbo Ash and husband Joseph Ash of Shreveport, LA., and Laurel Maddox and husband Tommy Maddox of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Kristopher Mercer, Ashlea Meredith, Robert Ray Williams Jr., Trent Daughtery, Kenneth (Kent) Price Jr., Ashley Ash, and Sarah Caldwell; her great-grandchildren, Sayler Mae Mercer, Makinna Meredith, Iler Poland, Rhody Poland, Ravion Poland, Cam Poland, and Robert Ray Williams III; her brother-in-laws, Jerry Barber and wife Marilyn of Lafayette, LA and Paul Barber of Blanchard, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen Carson Reynolds and Iler Dick Reynolds; siblings, Allen (AC) Reynolds, Maggie Pruitt, Helen Aucoin, Edward Reynolds, Patsy Wilson, and David Reynolds.
The family would like to give special thanks to friends and employees of Crown and CDS Dental Lab and also to Life Path Hospice Organziation especially to Courtney and Sheryl for the care they have shown.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donation be made in Mae’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
