Services to celebrate the home going of Mrs. Mable Green Walker, 96, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2018, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Mable was born on July 19, 1921, in Slate Springs, MS and passed away on the morning of January 5, 2018. She was a graduate of Northwestern State University and had retired after 25 years as a Counselor at Captain Shreve High School. Mrs. Walker was also a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Littleton “Bill” Edwards Walker, Jr.; parents, William L. and Ernestine Green; and her siblings, Rogenia Trotter, William L. Green, Jr., and her twin sister, Hazel DeWitt. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jean Walker Charrier (John), Littleton E. “Ed” Walker, and M. Roger Walker (Paula); five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, her former daughter-in-law, Mailene Walker; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
