Services celebrating the life of Lowell Eugene Clark, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Bro. Channin Barker. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery-West in Shreveport, LA. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Lowell Eugene Clark of Shreveport, LA passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on January 19, 1930 in Harlan, Iowa. He retired from Lucent Technology in 1989 after a career as a cost accountant. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He loved spending time with family and was dedicated to his work with the Masonic Lodge.
Brother Clark became a member of Queensborough Masonic Lodge #418 on June 22, 1979 and remained a member for 33 years. He was Master of the Lodge in 1987 and 2003. He was initiated on May 1, 1979, passed to the Fellow Craft Degree on June 8, 1979 and raised to a Master Mason on June 22, 1979. He was also a member of Queensborough Chapter #97 Royal Arch Masons and also the High Priest in 1987. He was Secretary of Chapter from 1997 to present.
He was preceded in death by wife, Jo Ellen Clark; brothers, James Clark and Don Clark and parents, John and Helen Clark.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Joyce; children, Ron and wife Nancy Clark, Tom Clark, Larry Clark, Cheryl and husband David Owen, Randy and wife Cindy LaPrarie, Sonda and husband Danny Harrelson; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brothers, Gale Clark of Lincoln, NE, Gary and wife Deanna Clark of Gibbon, NE; sisters, Jaquetta and husband Lyle Norton of Harlan, IA and Janet and husband Jerry Kruzan of Highbridge, WI. Gene was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Gene as pallbearers will be: Robbie Trickett, Kenny Clark, Randy LaPrarie, Kempe Thomas, David Owen and Wayne Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Masons of Queensborough Masonic Lodge #418.
