Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Lorena Prudhome Leon, 93, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Brian Opbroek of Shreveport Community Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Lorena was born on December 2, 1922 in Frierson, LA and went home to the Lord on August 24, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Leon will find everlasting peace in our heavenly kingdom as she will be reunited with her husband of over 59 years, Dan Leon. Lorena was the youngest of 8 siblings which included four brothers, Floyd, Willie, Clifford and Gordie Prudhome and three sisters, Azalea Denmon, Reba Alfred and Ludie Jackson. She was a graduate of Stonewall High School. Mrs. Leon worked at Sammy's restaurant in Shreveport for 30 years as a cashier.
Mrs. Leon was preceded in death by her sister, Ludie Mae Jackson.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Lorena is her daughter, Barbara Pierce Morgan and husband Larry; son, James Curtis Leon and wife Tina; five grandchildren, Michael Pierce, Bryan Pierce and wife Brooke, Jon Pierce and wife Katy, Rocky Leone and Kimberly Leon and four great grandchildren, Trenton, Bryson, Braden and Ellie-Kate Pierce. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, especially, Carolyn Tyree, Pat Aaron and Sandra Williams and M.L. Jackson.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Ruby Flowers, Rhonda Joynor, Clem Rainey, Vicki Gates and Lula Oliver for all the care and devotion shown to Mrs. Leon, as well as, Lifepath Hospice Care and Heritage Manor Stratmore. The family would also like to thank Dr. Eric Smith, Dr. Richard Haynie and the entire 2nd floor nurses and staff at Christus Highland for all the care, attention and comfort given to Lorena in her final days. Appreciation is also shown to Mrs. Leon's special friend, Silvia Carboni whom she adored and loved very much.
Honoring Mrs. Leon as pallbearers will be: Jon, Bryan and Michael Pierce, Chris Arjona, Carl Leon and James Mitchell.

Lorena was the most beautiful angel on this earth and we know this because she was our mother. She is now in Heaven. We love you mom and God Bless.
