Linda was loved by all who knew her. Her life followed that of a Steel Magnolia, honest to a fault and full of wit, charm, and hairspray. She spent her early days doing hair out of her home salon while raising her children, a home filled with laughter and the sounds of Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton. Linda loved spending time with her friends and family, never missing an opportunity to remind them to visit or invite them to her next church event. She was a faithful Rose Park Baptist Church member and enjoyed taking annual trips with her church group.
She'd show you a photo of her family if asked about her greatest accomplishment. She loved getting calls and visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she was always prepared with ice cream and a beanie baby to borrow but not keep. Linda loved her family, Jesus, the color pink, and anything made with sugar. She was kind, caring and will be deeply missed.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of her love, wisdom, and inspiration. She is survived by her husband, John E. Walker III, and her children: Terri Ashley (Ransom), Tracy Hester (Sammy), Leslie Parrish (Lisa), Diana Poythress (Billy), Alan Walker, and sister Joy Barnett. Additionally, grandchildren Kristen Holmes (Michael), Bailey Jones (Daniel), Landon Hester (Anthony), Cade Ashley (Hunter), Cole Ashley (Marissa), Carly Parrish, Will Poythress, Ashley Poythress, Brett Poythress, Nick Walker, and Dan Hester (JoRae), and eleven great-grandchildren Ashton, Ella Grey, Lennon, Jentry Tayte, Wade, Landon, Remi, Isaiah, Denton, Hendrix, and Aubreigh.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Ronnie Walker, brother Bill Dinkins, sister Emily Dinkins, and granddaughter Lauren Childers.
