Home Coming Services for Lillian Keeling, 92, will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2010 in the Centuries Memorial Chapel with son-in-law; Ron Carroll, and Pastor Andy Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana. The family will be receiving guests for visitation Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from the hours of 5-7 p.m. at Centuries.
Mrs. Lillian Keeling was born June 11, 1918 in Shelbyville, Texas to the late Frank and Maggie Dean Chandler and went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2010 in Shreveport, Louisiana following a lengthy illness. The Keelings were long time members of Life Tabernacle under the ministry of Jack Moore, along with her husband; she pastored Little Life Tabernacle in James Community in Center, Texas. In the 60’s and 70’s she pastored Harvest Time Center, 2917 Marquette Street in Shreveport. Mrs. Keeling made many mission trips to Mexico alongside Pastor Keeling and together they were instrumental in building churches all across Mexico. She was known to everyone as “Mama Keeling” because of her caring compassionate nature and gift of hospitality. Her home and heart was always open to help anyone in need.
Left to cherish her memories and tell her stories will be her daughter; Billie Carroll and husband Ron, two grandsons: Tommy and Todd Carroll, two great-granddaughters: Madison and Morgan Carroll, one niece; Linda Windham, one nephew; Jewel Bright, along with many great friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Garden Park Rehabilitation Center, and St. Joseph Hospice for all their care and compassion provided Mrs. Keeling in her time of need.
Honoring Mrs. Keeling as pallbearers will be Tommy Carroll, Todd Carroll, Garley “Red” Keeling, Alex Delfosse, Albert E. Scott, and William D. Roberts.
