Lewis Perry “Frenchie” Hickman, Sr. passed away on Monday June 15, 2015 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Lewis was born January 11, 1922 in Mount Alba, Texas. He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp. In 1947, he married Earline Gates and they were rarely apart for 68 years.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, his son Lewis Perry Hickman, Jr. and granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Hickman. He is survived by his wife Earline Hickman, one sister Annice Camp of Palestine, TX, son Ronald Hickman and wife Elizabeth, daughter-in- law Mary Hickman, grandsons, Ross Hickman and wife Angie and Jon Paul Hickman, great grandsons Aaron and Carson James Hickman and many nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Frenchie”.
Funeral services for Lewis “Frenchie” Hickman will be held on Friday June 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Chapel. Rev. Mel Campbell will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday June 19, 2015 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandson and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Guest House and Gamble Hospice for the loving care they gave Frenchie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
