I always remember Mr. Rowe. Especially on my Birthday Sept. 9th. 3 days after his 9/6.
He hired me in 1972. He set me straight a few times. Of course I needed it. Lol.
I'm the one He always called....Cadillac.

I was a bagger. One night I hit a Cadillac with a buggy. From then on in. He called me CADILLAC. It stayed with me along time.

I just found out that Mr. Rowe passed away. He was my mom’s boss for many, many years, Mary Readhimer. He spoke at her funeral and I believe he cried as much as I did. He was a wonderful and amazing man! I know he’s in heaven with my momma now. I am sorry to the family for your loss. Heaven has some of the most beautiful angels around His throne ! 

My deepest condolences go out to his wife and family.  I'm actually his neice.  I am the daughter of Philip Rowe, Jr.   I remember coming into Brookshires on Mansfield Rd in Shreveport with my grandmother when he was the store manager there.  He was always so sweet to me.  This was really the only contact I ever had with him but it meant the world to me as a small child.  Rest in Peace Uncle Larry.  I know you will be greatly missed.

I so loved Larry and Doris when they served the Lord at Southern Hills back in the 70’s and 80’s.  The Lord bought you to my heart last week and I prayed that he would be with you and comfort you in whatever was going on.  Larry loved the Lord, people and life.  Till we meet again! A wonderful man!! So helpful, hardworking and friendly. I grew up in the Summer Grove area. We attended church with Mr Rowe at Summer Grove. I shopped at Brookshire's every Saturday with my Mom. Mr Rowe ran that store with his heart. He cared for his employees and his customers.

I was one of Mr. Rowe’s original crew when he opened Brookshire's on Mansfield Rd. You never know who is going to be a major influence in your life. Mr. Rowe was one of mine. Taught all of us about work ethic and SERVICE. Many of the lessons I learned at Brookshire’s I used all my life in my own business. I remember him well. May he rest in the presence of God. Maybe I’ll be, again, one of his crew when it’s my time. 

Larry, Pop to me, was a mentor and a great friend. He was always willing to share his wisdom and knowledge to help young Store Directors grow. His smile, and he was never without one, was  genuine and uplifting. Rest In Peace Pop, you will be missed.

at Summer Grove Baptist. His love for Jesus was evident and now he's face-to-face with his Lord and Saviour.

Mr Rowe it was a pleasure meeting and talking with you when you made your deliveries at Walmart on Bert Kouns. I will truly miss you .  To the family you have a sincere condolences.  

I worked for Mr. Rowe at Brookshire's during high school in the early 70s.  He was a top-notch manager at the store and set a good example for us.  As I matured I realized what a fortunate thing it was for me to have worked for him.  I talked to him several times at Summer Grove Baptist Church when I would visit there with my mother who still lives in Shreveport. I always enjoyed seeing him. A couple of years ago he flagged me down and gave me a photograph with him and several of us who worked for him. The photo was taken at the store. He will be missed. A great man. Am proud to have known him. God bless his family.

We send Sympathy and Love to the family. Praise the Lord for Larry and his testimony of GOD’S Grace and Mercy. Such a faithful choir member and fun friend.  Larry will be missed. 

Doris & family, Cal & I are so sorry to hear of Larry's homecoming! Although, it must be glorious where he's at! We met when they moved to Kings Crossing,  Doris & Dee played Bunko, and the men felt left out, so we formed a  Chicken Foot group, where Larry & Cal met. Those games lasted several years! We have many fond memories of those good times! He was a good neighbor and friend! We'll miss him. GOD be with  Doris and the family, to comfort them & bless them with peace during this difficult time. Cal & Dee Hall 

To all of Mr Larry’s family..He was a great human being,met him as customer on Mansfield Rd Brookshires and a forever friendship began. Hard working,people loving,his employees were his family..He never forgot a face ..Years went by and he was working at Brookshires on Bert Kouns. I think him working brought him lots of joy. Picking up trash in parking lot,to carrying groceries out or stocking Mr Larry made an impact of a lot of people. He loved his God and his family always keeping u updated. Mr. Rowe such a awesome person!! He impacted my life and during the time i worked at Brookshires on Mansfield road from ..1973-1976 while going to Southwood he was like a second father. He made me feel special and important every time he takes to him. Loved this man!!! He will be missed!!

I knew Mr. Rowe for over 50years. When the Mansfield Rd. store opened my father was his produce manager and friend. God bless you Mr. Rowe you were one of a kind. My heart goes out to his family.

Doris, I pray that you find comfort in knowing that Larry has lived his life in preparation for this journey and you will see him again.  Larry was a wonderful Christian man who was a friend and mentor to many. He was a dear friend to the Adams family and he and Ron enjoyed playing a lot of  golf together!  Larry’s funeral is on Ron’s birthday. It’s also the day Ron’s wife Syd passed in 2010.  What a joyful reunion they are having in heaven! 

Uncle Larry was a Godly, loving man who always made people feel welcomed. I have so many memories of him at the Rowe family gatherings. He  always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude.   He was a faithful servant and loved the Lord. My love to you all for your loss. 

Mrs. Doris and family. I’m so sorry for the loss of Larry.  Mr Rowe was my first boss at Brookshires. He taught me how to become polite and welcomed into a place that most considered his own. One of the greatest men I’ve ever met and proud to say I worked with him. He always treated us like his own family.  Mr. Rowe told me about the Navy, which I joined and served 24 years.  May God bless you and your family and give you comfort and peace .

Larry will always be known to many as the face of Brookshires but to me Larry is a friend and mentor. I used to tease him about his light load when he merchandised Mama Mia's product telling him "that's the job I need".  Little did I know Larry would actually recruit me to work with him. I cherish the memories of the times we had together. A wonderful Christian man who is loved by many.
