Judy Watkins Connell Antee

Judy was raised in Texarkana, Arkansas. As a young adult she moved to Los Angeles where she welded in ship yards during World War II. While in Los Angeles she met Byron Connell, they moved to Shreveport and married. Judy held many jobs throughout her life, she was a nurse aid at Schumpert Hospital, and a waitress. Prior to retirement Judy drove a school bus for the Caddo Parish School District for 26 years.

Judy is survived by her son Roger Connell and wife Marilyn of Keatchie, LA ; sister Christina "Nellie" Merrigan of New Jersey; grandsons Michael Connell and wife Holly of Shreveport, LA, Byron Connell of Cedar Hill, TX ; granddaughters Cherry Young and husband Bruce of Shreveport, LA, Julie Widmer and Andy of Homer, LA and Tracey Armstead and husband John of Armistead, LA. Judy is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and family that loved her very much.

Judy was preceded in death by her first husband Byron Connell; her second husband Calvin Antee; daughter Judy Rae Holcomb and son-in-law James "Bo" Holcomb; mother Bessie Watkins and father Galloway Watkins; grandsons Carl Byron Roberts, Christopher Connell, and great granddaughter Alynna Connell.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 11:00 PM in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, with Dr. Darrell Dean officiating. A private interment will take place at Forest Park West.
