Jon was born to Linda Joan Jordan and Gary Roland Bruce on March 16, 1973 in Shreveport, LA and passed away peacefully on September 9, 2016 at the Grace Home after a 16 month battle with kidney cancer. Jon attended Huntington High School and went on to become a HVAC technician. He cherished his daughter, Julianne and the 13 years they had together. He loved the moments spent gathered with all his extended family. Jon loved to fish, kayak, camp and hunt. He loved to play cards and darts with his friends. Jon was the type of friend who always showed up. His friends were considered his brothers. A peaceful man, he will be remembered by all of us for his humor, honor and love for others. Jon fought Stage 4 kidney cancer with humor, courage and a peacefulness that comes from knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Jon is his daughter, Julianne Bruce; mother, Linda Miller; father, Gary Bruce and wife Cheryl; sister, Michelle Griffin; sister, Andrea Rachall and husband Aaron; stepbrother, Todd Latham; nieces, Shelby Calderon and Madison Griffin and nephews, Dakota Calderon, Blake Rachall and Trevor Rachall. He is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
