Johnnie Wayne Taylor, age 72, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021. Johnnie was born June 12, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Archie Taylor and Eloise Adams. He was raised at an early age by his grandmother "Mamaw Hun."
Johnnie retired from ArklaGas with over 30 years of service. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He was an amazing mechanic and avid bowler. Johnnie was known for his wit and was blatantly honest in his dealings with people. He was a great dad and papa and loved his family unconditionally.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, "Mamaw Hun"; brothers, Curtis Adams, Mark Adams, Roger Adams, Scott Adams and Billy Adams.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Teresa Tegeder and her husband Zachary; son, Chris and his wife Diane; grandchildren, Triston Woods, Peyton Tegeder, Morgan and Kylee Taylor; sister, Virginia Stephenson; brothers, George Adams, Richard, Randy and Curtis Taylor; honorary sister, aunt Shirley Lambright; favorite nephew, Shawn Medlin; favorite cousin and honorary daughter, Tracy Burke. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation for Johnnie will be held Friday, June 11, 2021 from 3:00-6:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life service will he held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Centuries Memorial Park following the service.
