Mrs. Johnnie Louise Baker McCann

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Johnnie McCann, 91, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Buddy Hankins. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Johnnie was born to Polly Brown Baker and John Baker on July 27, 1920 in Williams, Oklahoma and passed away on June 22, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. Having chosen never to work outside of the home, Johnnie enjoyed cooking, shopping and keeping grandchildren. She raised her children at Southside Baptist Church and later was a member of First Baptist Church. At the time of her death she was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. She and her husband were awarded many vacation trips through his employment at the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from her love and relationships with her 30 grandchildren.

Preceding Mrs. McCann in death was her husband, James Loye McCann, her eldest son, Randall Franklin McCann, daughter, Patricia Louise McCann Castrogiovanni, her parents and three siblings.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Johnnie are her sons, Robert James McCann and wife Jere of Huntsville, TX and Michael Stephen McCann and wife Sherri of St. Louis, MO; daughter-in-law, Carol McCann of Shreveport, LA; 14 grandchildren, Debbie Bourque, Lisa Scotti, Randy McCann, Scott Butler, Danny Butler, Rob McCann, Samuel Loye McCann, Christy McCann McWhorter, Cindy Castrogiovanni Luker, Denise Castrogiovanni McKelvain, Joey Castrogiovanni, Chad McCann, Kelsey McCann and Bret McCann. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Johnnie is also survived by long time friend, Alice Jean.

Honoring Mrs. McCann as pallbearers will be: Sam McCann, Joey Castrogiovanni, Wayne Luker, Anthony Luker, Christopher Luker and Wesley Thompkins.
