John Baptist Warwick Sr., of Shreveport, La passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, John, loving husband and father, passed away at age 84. John was born in Shreveport, LA on June 30, 1935 to William Henry and Marie Henriette Warwick.
John was a true servant of God who served as an Usher at St John Berchmans in Shreveport for more than 25 years. A strong Godly example to his family and friends. John would always greet you with a smile and a handshake. He was a refreshingly good person you always looked forward to seeing.
John started his career as a Southern Maid Donut driver while attending Fair Park High and finished his career as an accomplished electrician. Serving with the local IBEW #194, were he was a 60+ year member. John had a passion for square dancing that started with the Activators and soon after the Southern Swingers. Fifteen years of swinging his partner. John was best known for being able to fix anything.
John is proceeded in death by his first wife Pattsie Jo Mccomic; Daughter Pamela Ann Warwick Sale; Brother Raymond Hubert Warwick; Mother Marie Henriette Berset; Father William Henry Warwick; Stepfather Ralph Spurgen Smith, and Stepson Keith Dwain Stiles.
John is Survived by brothers William Henry “Bill” Warwick (Carolyn) of Katy Tx, Christopher Dave Warwick (Lois) of Kellogg, Id; Sons John B Warwick Jr of Stonewall, La, Dwayne Henry Warwick of Bossier City, La; his second wife Charlotte Ann Russell Warwick of Shreveport, La; Stepson William H “Perry” Stiles of Shreveport, La and Stepdaughter Bettyann Stiles Jones of Bossier City, La; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Saturday March 21, 2020 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home at 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, LA 71108. Please come to leave condolences for the family at your leisure, to prevent large groups.
In light of the public safeguards pertaining to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a private family graveside will be held at Centuries Memorial Park. Father Duane Trumbotta will be officiating. Serving the family as Honorary Pallbearers will be John B Warwick, Jr, Dwayne H Warwick, Bill Warwick, Chris Warwick, Jacob Warwick, Randy Warwick. Once precautions are lifted, a memorial service will be scheduled at Centuries Funeral Home to accommodate friends and family hindered by the current pandemic.
