Services celebrating the life of John Russell Logue, 49, will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. Billy Pierce. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM until service time in the chapel. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
Mr. Logue was born on February 2, 1961 in Shreveport, LA, to Lucas H. Logue, Jr. and Echo E. Sylvester Logue. John graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1981. He was employed by Schumpert Medical Center as a Nutritional Service Aid.
Mr. Logue was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church. Russell enjoyed helping anyone he could and loved talking to people. He also enjoyed cooking, listening to music and watching movies.
Celebrating his homecoming are his parents, Lucas H. Logue, Jr. and Echo E. Logue, who preceded him in death.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of John is his wife, Carol Diehl Logue, one son, Nathan R. Logue, siblings; Larry Gastley, Gary Gastley and wife Sherry, Dolly Weingart and husband Greg, Cindy Chambers and husband Rick, Lorraine Williams and husband Gary, Cheryl Logue and Jennifer Durham and husband Mark, one granddaughter, Christiana. Mr. Logue is also survived by many many friends.
Honoring Mr. Logue as pallbearers will be: Parrish Chambers, Jeremy Dorough, Shane Preston, Younger Chambers, Dylan Miller and Brother Chambers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Anil Veluvolu and the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center.
