John is survived by his wife Debbie Stoll Kellogg of Shreveport and his son John Alex and Brittany Kellogg of New Orleans. John also leaves behind two stepsons, Matt and Heidi Sanders of Bossier City and Justin and Jennifer Sanders of Blanchard; a brother, David and Gail Kellogg of Shreveport; and brother-in-laws Robert and Pam Stoll of Shreveport and Josh Whitehouse of San Francisco. He loved being a grandfather to Lleyton and Lily. John’s parents, Bobby and Mary Ann Kellogg, and brother Jim Kellogg preceded him in death. His family will remember him for his love for life and the people around him.
John was a registered nurse who took pride in helping others work towards wholeness. He was known by many for his kind spirit and bear hugs. John tried his best to live by the words of the Serenity Prayer: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” John’s favorite place was a piece of family property, where he spent years partaking in “tractor therapy.” He and Debbie were recently able to achieve their dream of building a cabin in the woods. John’s life and work impacted countless numbers of people and he will be greatly missed.
John’s beautiful blue eyes were donated to the Louisiana Eye Bank. A small service will be held on December 24th, 2014 with family and close friends out at “the land.”
