Jo Ann Ray, age 72, of Keithville, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021. Jo Ann was born October 11, 1948 at the Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana to Katherine E. and Dennis H. Miller.
Jo Ann married the love of her life, Charles Ray on November 5, 1969. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage together. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Jo Ann was a friend to many. She worked as a Department Manager at Walmart for 32 years before retiring and becoming a Homemaker. Jo Ann was a Christian, General Council, and the rock of her family. She had a beautiful soul, a guiding light, and a big forgiving heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and gathering with friends.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Charles Ray; son David Ray and wife Kristi and daughter Christy Peery and husband Shane; grandsons Joseph "Joe" Duncan and wife Krista, Chance Glovier and wife Sarah, Joshua Peery and Jacob Peery; granddaughters Elizabeth Ray, Ashley Belden and husband Jeff, Brittany Ward and husband Justin; great grandsons Michael "Mark" Belden, Phillip Ward, Kayne Ward and Matthew Ward; great granddaughters Kennedy Belden and Emory Glovier; brother Frank Miller and wife Phyllis and sister Terry Miller
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; brothers David Miller, Donnie Miller and Tony Miller.
Jo Ann's family will receive friends on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Her funeral service will be held Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10:00 am, in the chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, with Brother Mike Stowell officiating. Jo Ann will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park, immediately following service. Honoring Jo Ann as pallbearers are Eddie Melvin, Joseph Duncan, David Ebarb, Scott Garceau, Mark Miller and Bobby Glovier.
