Bossier City, LA- A Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Jason Michael Person, 37, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at St. John Berchmans Cathedral. Officiating will be Father Karl Daigle. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with a Vigil/Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Jason was born on October 18, 1975 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on December 17, 2012 in Bossier City, LA. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jason was a former detective with the Shreveport Police Department and a former deputy with the Bossier Sheriff’s Department. He loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. He was very charismatic, enjoyed traveling the world, a sportsman, a wine and food connoisseur, a master storyteller and most importantly Jason was an “Officer and a Gentleman” to all who knew him. Jason was a 1st Lieutenant with the Louisiana National Guard’s 165th Combat Sustainment Battalion and served as a military intelligence officer.
Preceding Jason in death were his maternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Michael Balistrella; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus I. Person; step mother in law, Debbie Rhnea Staats and loving dog, “Ranger”.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Jason is his wife, Lauren Malu Person; parents, Jim and Carolyn Person; brother, Eric Person and wife Jessica; nephew, Dalton Michael Person; niece, Madalyn Person; father in law, Dr. Tom Staats; mother in law, M’ Lou Barnett; step father in law, Gary Rippetoe; sister in law, Kara Staats and loving pet, “Miss Nubie”. Jason was also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Honoring Mr. Person as pallbearers will be: Paul Houtz, Erik Addington, Colin Evans, Matt Titus, Jim Carlton, Jason Brancamp, Greg Rudell and John David Person. Honorary pallbearers will be: Vincent Glorioso, Dalton Michael Person, Sam Balistrella, Joe Balistrella, Wes Heath, Billy Williams, Jason Miller and Julian Whittington.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, The Boy Scouts of America or the charity of your choice.
