Mr. James Edgar "Jimmie" Johnson

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of James Edgar Johnson, 79, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Summer Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be Bro. Billy Crosby. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Summer Grove Baptist Church.

Jimmie was born on August 21, 1935 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on May 30, 2015 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mr. Johnson was the former Vice President of Pioneer Bank and after retiring he operated concession stands and enjoyed traveling. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Naval Reserves and was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church. Jimmie was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Doug and Homer Johnson.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Jimmie is his wife, Glynda Faye Ervin Johnson; children, Jim Johnson and wife Casey, Larry Johnson and Connie Johnson; daughter in law, Robin Johnson; one brother, Charles Johnson and wife Daisy; sister in law, Shirley Huckabay; grandchildren, Sarah Hefler, Crystal Ellsworth(Casey), Rachel Donaway(Corey), Bobby Johnson, Jonathan Kirklin, Amanda Kirklin, Cara Johnson, Hannah Johnson and Claire Johnson; great grandchildren, Abygale Hefler, Justin Hefler and Olivia Johnson. Mr. Johnson is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association.
