Jacquelyn "Jackie" Sue Bass

Jacquelyn Sue Bass was born December 17, 1963 in Sterling, CO to Jack Dan Bass and Mary Marguerite Bass. She passed away Friday, June 21, 2024 surrounded by Dan, her siblings and two daughters by her side. Jackie worked for many years as a Manager at Family Dollar in which she was the inspiration to bring the store to Blanchard, LA. She worked hard to open and run the store for five years.

Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Her dedication to her family was unconditional throughout her life. Her gentle spirit, boundless generosity and deep-rooted love for animals were treasured. She owned four dogs, five cats, four guinea pigs and three ducks at her country home that she loved. She never hesitated to lend a hand, shoulder or home to whoever needed. She gave love and lived with a passion for life.

Left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Dan of Blanchard, LA; son, Jody Philyaw of Port Allen, LA; daughters, Amanda Kelly of Troup, TX and Tiffany Broyal of Shreveport, LA; grandson, Cameron of Shreveport, LA; sister, Christina Bass-Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; brother, David Bass of Hutchinson, KS; aunt, Gerry Bass of Shreveport, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a bounty of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the love, support and joy shared for the last 25 years with Dan. She was blessed and thankful.
