Jack Rachal

Born on Tuesday, November 21, 1933 in Shreveport, Louisiana, he occupied his time across a variety of professional fields but specialized in being many people’s first call when something needed fixing – a true “Jack” of all trades.

Jack and his wife Beverly pursued a passion for travel throughout his life across the entire North American continent by RV as well as many European countries, Australia and New Zealand. He was always up for trying something new and exploring landscapes and cultures he visited.

The accomplishments that made him proudest called him Dad and Papa. Jack worked hard applying his natural aptitude, discipline, and consistency in support of Beverly and their three children, and he channeled the same energy after retirement into playing with his 11 grandchildren. He passed down to proceeding generations the priority he placed on traveling as a family along with teaching by example the benefits of a life dedicated to hard work and honesty.

Jack leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years Beverly Anne (Tucek) Rachal; children Renee Rachal Culpepper, Steve Rachal (Diane), and Denise Rachal Britt (Miles); grandchildren Kelly Grantham, Misty Grantham Laburay, Sara Rachal Luquire, Lacey Rachal, Casey Culpepper, David Dinsmore, Tracy Culpepper Jordan, Halley Rachal Gibbs, Drew Dinsmore, Jon Eric Dinsmore, and Amber Rachal; 18 great-grandchildren; “the gang” – who have eaten dinner together weekly for 45 years without fail – comprised of brothers Paul Rachal (Margie), Joe Rachal, Glenn Rachal (Judy), sister Theda Rachal Dyar, childhood friends Wayne Dillman (Carol), and Norman Mabry (Sylvia); and multiple nieces and nephews.

He follows in death his mother Ruby Rose Rachal, brother-in-law Tom Dyar, sister-in-law Peggy Rachal, and three nieces.

The family will host a memorial service at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Calvary Baptist Church Family Life Center located at 9333 Linwood Avenue in Shreveport. They ask that in lieu of flowers donations go to the benefit of the American Cancer Society.
