Howard Vance Walker

Shreveport, LA Howard Vance Walker was born December 3, 1924 in Plain Dealing, LA to Esther Cornelius and Major G. Walker and passed away on June 24, 2017. He graduated from Fair Park High School and attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and LSU-S. He was a WWII Naval Air Corp Veteran and a self-employed mechanic. He retired from ABC Auto Parts in 2014.

Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jimmie G. Walker and one sister, Jeannette Moseley. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jearl (Jerry) Boyett Walker; daughters, Jerry (Roby) Bryant and Colene Haston and her husband Joel; sons, Edwin Vance Walker and his wife Marianna and John Howard Walker and his wife Melinda; eleven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 11:00 AM in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
