Jackson, MS - Helen Juanita Richmond left her earthly home on October 29, 2012 at the age of 95 yrs old to join her loved ones who had gone before her to our heavenly home. She will be laid to rest in Shreveport, LA at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery on Sat. Nov. 3, 2012. Visitation will be start at 12 noon with a graveside service at 2pm.
She was born to T. A. Sr. and Clayton Simmons McMillian in Shreveport, LA where she lived until recent years when she moved to Jackson, MS to be near her family. She was predeceased by her mother and father and her husband, Talmadge C. Richmond and her much loved brothers, Howard, Aubrey, Henry, T. A. Jr. and Robert along with her son-in-law, Allen Offutt. She is survived by her daughters, Kay McBride (Jerry) and Cheryl Offutt, grandchildren, Doug McBride and Donna McBride Cardinal (Cameron) and her much loved great grandson, Riley Adam Cardinal. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins who were very special in her life.
Helen was a very talented lady in many ways and loved to play the piano. One of her most enjoyable times was owning Just Looking Gift House in Shreveport. She was a member of Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church in Shreveport and was a very active member until her move. She had been a Sunday School teacher and was a past president of the UMW and served in other capacities.
