Services celebrating the life of George Harold Jolly, 70, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Richard Nunnery. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
George was born on February 22, 1941 in Jackson, MS and passed away on December 19, 2011 at his residence in Shreveport, LA. Mr. Jolly was a mechanic and owned/operated George’s Auto Repair for 40 years in Shreveport. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. George enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, golfing and playing pool. He was a member of the American Pool Association and the American Legion.
Mr. Jolly was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Corinne Jolly and one brother, Robert Jolly.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of George are his daughters, Robin Johnson and husband Larry of Bedford, TX and Kimberly Bowers of Shreveport, LA; girlfriend, Vickie Mericle; grandchildren, Crystal Ellsworth and husband Casey, Cara Johnson, Claire Johnson, Justin Bowers and Jordan Bowers; sisters, Hilda Williams, Marjorie Harvey, Mary Elizabeth Jorgenson, Juanita Jolly, Audrey Stanley, Linda Spencer and Cheryl Yeagley; brothers, Vernon Jolly and David Jolly. Mr. Jolly is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Honoring George as pallbearers will be: Jeff Hood, Jason Youngblood, Larry Johnson, James Mericle, Jr., Casey Ellsworth, James Youngblood, Phil Lee and Claude Echols.
