Geneva T. Lenard was born on July 13,1925 in Marion, South Carolina to Arnie and Lula Byrd Turner. On September 1, 2022, she joined her husband, Morris C. "Curly" Lenard, parents and two sisters, Leona T. Sawyer and Gladys T. Capps in her heavenly home at the age of 97.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynette Swygart and husband Bill of Bossier City, Louisiana. Two sons, Wayne Lenard and wife Margaret of Tuscon, Arizona and Russell Lenard and wife Gina of Stonewall, Louisiana. Also eight very special grandchildren, Jamie Webb and husband Casey, Whitney Earl and husband Charles, Daniel Lenard, Stacy Bell and husband Jacob, Jeremy Swygart and wife Faye, Vanessa Jackson and Desiree Goodwill and husband Noah. Survivors also include eleven great grandchildren, Conner Cubley, Payton Webb, Addison and Wyatt Bell, Nathan Swygart, Essie and A. J. Jackson, Ellie, Zarin, and Cammie Robbins, and Penelope Goodwill.
Geneva retired from Doctors Hospital in 1985. She leaves a legacy of commitment to God, her beloved family and many friends. She was an active member of Summer Grove Baptist Church, much loved Priscilla Sunday school class and Joy Choir was an absolute must on Wednesday mornings. Geneva especially enjoyed traveling with her family and later with her church family.
Visitation will be held on September 2, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Centuries Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana, followed by graveside services and entombment at 2:00 pm at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating will be Pastor John Walker.
