A graveside service to celebrate Fran will be held November 13, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Officiating the service will be Dr. Billy Sutton and Rev. Willis Dear. Her grandsons will honor her as pallbearers.
Fran Clark Waddell of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the age of 97. She was born in Merry Hill, North Carolina on October 8, 1925 to the late Eugene and Ella Phelps, where she was the second of seven children.
Fran married the late Paul Clark, Sr. in August of 1943. She married the late Paul Waddell in October of 1985. She worked as a school secretary when Southern Hills Elementary opened in 1960 before moving to Woodlawn High School in 1968, where she worked until her retirement in 1985.
She was a charter member of Christ Methodist Church. Fran enjoyed golf, tennis and tending to her beautiful yard. Most of all, Fran loved her garden, church, family and friends. She lived her last six years of her life at The Oaks, where she was loved and well taken care of by her wonderful nurses, CNAs and Staff. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dr. Paul Clark, Jr. (Nancy) and Penny Clark Duncan (Sammy); stepchildren, Nancy Hutson (Henry) and Bobby Waddell (Sharon); grandchildren, Paul Clark, III (Michelle), Nate Duncan (Lydia), Dr. Ben Clark (Nancy), Dr. David Clark (Katie), Adam Duncan (Dr. Blanca Duncan), Preston Hutson (Katie), Leila Hutson Millican (Trent), Paul Hutson (Kristi), Beaux Waddell (Amanda) and Erin Leigh Waddell Garrett (Michael); and 28 great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Carpenter House for their care in her last week and a special thanks to her sitter and friend, Pearl Mosley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Fran's name may be made to Christ Methodist Church.
