Services to honor the life of Mr. Ernest H. Davis, 82, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2012, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests Sunday evening between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ernest was born on February 2, 1930, in Shreveport, LA and entered into peaceful rest on Friday, August 3, 2012. He grew up in Oil City, LA. After graduating high school he went to work at the Shreveport Journal where he met Juanita, the love of his life. They settled down in Shreveport and raised three children together. In addition to being a devoted husband and father, he was a well respected and successful hard working business man who owned his own advertising company for many years in the Shreveport area. Mr. Davis was also an avid hunter and fisherman. In later years he enjoyed playing dominoes at Springs of Grace Baptist Church with devoted friends and members of his Sunday school class.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ola Mae Davis; and brothers, John Terrell, Harvey Leon, and Willie Vernon Davis. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 62 years, Mrs. Juanita Brown Davis; daughters, Brenda Mills and husband, Randy and Cheryl Crawford and husband, John; son, Ernie H. Davis, Jr. and wife, Cindy; sisters, Maxine Stoelting and Helen Smith; brother, Sam Davis and wife, Ann; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Honoring Mr. Davis as pallbearers are Mike Davis, Doug Davis, Dave Brix, Tony Mitchell, Billy Bonds and Jimmy Wooten.
