Throughout his life, Eric touched everyone who knew him. He was incomparably kind, hilarious, and fearless. Eric was a fierce warrior, beating cancer as a young child. He was a pure outdoorsman at heart, and he loved fishing the pristine rivers of our country’s most beautiful wild places. He was a true adventurer with a passion for all things free: last-minute road trips, camping under the stars, exploring cities far and wide, body surfing the waves of the Pacific, landing mind-bending tricks on his skateboard, and skydiving at top speeds through the open air. He loved being from California. His confidence and curiosity about the world were unmatched. He had a hugely generous heart, he welcomed all people, and he loved animals and children. Eric was an amazing artist, a wonderful craftsman, and a talented electrician. He loved films, and could quote movie lines better than anyone. He always found a way to make people laugh, even during the hard times. He loved simple things: grilling, French dip sandwiches, fresh oysters, and fish and chips. Eric loved experiencing life, savoring every moment. He deeply loved his family and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Nancy McArdle of Louisiana, and Bernard and Geraldine Werdel of California.
Left to cherish his memory are his father Mike of Louisiana, his mother Anne and brothers Matthew and Austin of California, and many extended family members and friends.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CenturiesMemorialFH.com for the McArdle family.
