SHREVEPORT, LA – Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ellen Fay Tatom, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Barbara Driscoll and Father Paul Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Saturday evening between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ellen was born on March 14, 1938, in Ilion, N.Y. to parents, Frederick and Bertha (Ferguson) Fay and passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
Ellen was a wonderful wife and mother who devoted her time to her family and her Lord. Growing up, Ellen was a member of the Girl Scouts of America, and later as an adult, became co-leader of her daughters’ troop #334. She enjoyed creating beautiful greeting cards for her family and friends. Ellen was also a member of Broadmoor Christian Church and the Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF).
She is survived by her husband, Harold “Paul” Tatom; daughters, Heather Adcock and husband, Mark, Stephanie Hibberts and husband, David, and Jennifer Meleton and husband, Jamey; grandchildren, Meghan Drzewiecki, Caitlin Hibberts, Clint Meleton, Matthew Meleton, and Joshua Ball; brother, Dan Fay; sisters, Betty Hansen, Joanna Rowell, Ruth Kinville, and Marion Schmock; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Pallbearers are Mark Adcock, David Hibberts, Jamey Meleton, Clint Meleton, Matthew Meleton, and Joshua Ball.
The family would like to thank all the physicians, nurses, and caregivers at Highland Hospital, Dubuis Hospital, and Christus Grace Home-Shreveport Hospice. Memorials may be made to Broadmoor Christian Church or Christus Grace Home-Shreveport Hospice.
