Edward Bruce Hall was born March 30, 1939 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Eugene “E.C." Hall Sr. and Annie McCool Hall. He attended Dollarway School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where he excelled in sports and voted class president. He left school early to join the United States Army in 1956. Ed was a proud Veteran; serving in Hanau, Germany through 1960.
After his honorable discharge, he consistently sought out new challenges and opportunities to expand his knowledge and skills. He was a true jack-of-all-trades. He worked for the International Paper Mill, and Dr. Pepper in Arkansas, and M.D. Anderson Hospital in Texas. Ed's fondest memory was working with his father at Cotton Belt Railroad. He also enjoyed being the owner and operator of his own businesses. He opened International Consultants, an overseas employment agency, managed over a dozen nightclubs in Texas, opened several business schools all across the country, notably the Delta School of Commerce in Shreveport, LA between 1965 and 1971, and famously known for being the owner and director of Hall & Associates Investigations since 1972.
Throughout his diverse career, Ed made meaningful contributions, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His attention to detail and dedication were evident when he became a professional dance instructor at the well-known, Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Shreveport, LA and Texarkana, AR. Eddie’s country boy roots were intertwined with his passion for the outdoors and riding horses. He was the founding President of the Eagle Bend Riding Club in 1995. He enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado, was a fan of Western books and movies. He also liked a good comedy movie. He was fond of meeting with his family and friends to catch up over coffee or a good meal.
Ed enjoyed sports but football was probably his favorite. He enjoyed watching a close game, rooting for the underdog and good acts of sportsmanship. When he coached he was more of a mentor than he knew.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ed was a devoted Christian with a profoundly charitable heart. He was distinguished by his generosity and kindness; never wanting attention or recognition.
