Doris Pickett Bamburg

Doris Pickett Bamburg, age 92, of Stonewall, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. She was born December 12, 1929 in Coushatta, Louisiana to Mattie Hazel Moseley and William David Pickett.

Doris was a devoted Christian and loved her church. She had a passion for crafting which included sewing, crocheting, and quilting. Most of all, she loved her family and was dedicated to her husband, R.L. Bamburg for 52 wonderful years.

Doris is survived by her daughters Robbie Boyett, Sue Windham (Joe) and Jerri Boyett (Larry); twin sister Dorothy Giddens; sisters Dinah Puckett and Betsy Bell; brother Joe Pickett (Joyce); her grandchildren Mike, Lindsay, Shelley, Christi, Micah, Joey, Jessi, Daniel and Stevie. Also left to cherish her memory are 24 great grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband R.L. Bamburg, parents William David Pickett and Mattie Hazel Moseley, son Gary Bamburg, and 3 brothers.

A visitation for Doris will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM. Honoring her as pallbearers are Daniel Bell, Joey Windham, Todd Blankenship, Dustin Pilcher, Nolan Webb, Thor Cobb, Chris Chatham and Jared Barber. She will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be sent to the Salem Baptist Church, 5187 LA-3276, Stonewall, LA 71078.
