Walter Dean Thompson, age 77, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Friday October 11, 2019. He was born October 15, 1941 in Monroe, Louisiana. Dean worked for General Motors and retired after 25 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and doing anything outdoors. He was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and the Houston Astros. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dean will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Teresa Thompson; children, Darrell Thompson and wife Cindy, Russell Thompson and wife Ticcia, Brian Snedegar and wife Brooke, and Jason Thompson; sister, Shirley Asbrock; and his pride and joy his grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, Courtney, Kaylin, and Brody.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ray Thompson and Vera Mae Weeks Thompson; and a brother, Michael Thompson.
A visitation for Dean will be held Friday, October 18, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A memorial service will occur Friday, October 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM. An interment will occur Friday, October 18, 2019 at Forest Park West, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71109. Officiating the services will be Bro. John Harp.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert “Bob” Massingill; Dee Dee Arceneaux and Susan Hancock for the tremendous care they gave to Mr. Dean during his illness.
