November 10th, 2023.
David was born April 14th, 1971 in Shreveport Louisiana to the proud parents of Willie Bruce and Brenda Sue Yates. From a young age David knew everyone on the block and everyone loved him just as they did his entire life. Even as a child from the second his feet hit the ground he was out exploring visiting friends and seeing who needed help or what kind of mischief he could stir up. Later down the road David had four beautiful children; Kimber Moore, Ashley Yates, Brittaney Yates, and Nathan Hawkins.
In 2014 David relocated to Cody, Wyoming with the love of his life, Lisa Adams. They married later that
year on November 22, 2014. He developed many long lasting friendships that turned in to family. While
living in Wyoming he managed Champs Chicken, where all of the customers knew him by name. He
always felt the desire to help anyone in need whether it be buying lunch for a kid who didn’t have any
money or teaching life lessons through daily conversations. David's generosity didn’t stop there. His
home had an open door policy for anyone who needed a fresh start or new beginning to show them
there was so much more to life.
David had so many hobbies. There was never a dull moment with him. He was always up for the next
adventure! Whether he was packing up the camper for the weekend, fishing, or riding his motorcycles.
He became family and joined the Heathens MF in 2017. This involved countless poker runs, camping
trips, and his personal favorite Nationals. When he started getting sick he retired from the Heathens MF
where he previously held the position of President.
The impact David had on those he loved was unmatched. He will be so deeply missed by his family and
friends. He would give the shirt off his back to those in need. Life without him will never be the same.
David is preceded in death by his father Willie Bruce Yates Sr.; his step father, Donald Ray Nielsen; His
