Craig C. Brown was born December 10, 1929 in Larimer, Pennsylvania and passed away October 24, 2010 in Shreveport. Services will be held at Centuries Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 28, at 2:00pm with visitation on Wednesday, Oct 27 from 5 until 7:00pm. Officiating will be Rev. Gary Boswell assisted by Mike McCain. The interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
Mr. Brown was a resident of Shreveport and also lived in Arlington, Texas. He served his country in the Air Force at Lake Charles AFB where he met and married the love of his life. He received his BA from University of Pittsburgh, his Masters from Mammouth College in New Jersey. He retired from Johnson & Johnson in 1991 as a medical scientist/chemist. While working at Johnson & Johnson he was granted several patents in his medical research and development and also received the Phillip B. Hoffman award in 1986. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #674 in Pennsylvania, American Legion and the American Chemical Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Catherine Brown; wife of 52 years, Grace Brown; brothers Robert, David and Matthew Brown and sister, Agnes Painter.
He is survived by his two daughters Juanita Chennault, Bettie Tully and husband Sam of Shreveport; sister Catherine Brown of Larimer, PA; several nieces and nephews; three grandchildren, Teresa Conforto and husband Lou of E. Hartford, CT, David Ogletree and wife Donna, Lisa Berry and husband John of Shreveport; six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be David Ogletree, Nicholas Ogletree, Lou Conforto, John Berry Sr, John Berry Jr and Tyler Berry.
The family wishes to thank Drs. Paul Rushing and Michael Gooszen, the Southwest Dialysis Center staff and his loving caregiver Catherine White.
