She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Landry Carter, Aubrey Swearengin and Lawson Roberts along with Christy’s sister Mandy McGee, stepmother, Patsy McGee and numerous relatives and friends.
Christy dearly loved to talk about her children and grandchildren. She was never at a loss for something to talk about and was always looking for ways to create memories for her children and grandchildren. Christy had a wonderful sense of humor and a laughter that lit up the room. Christy enjoyed many things but she truly loved spending her weekends at home watching LSU football with her family and friends. She loved her family vacations to the lake or at the beach. She was a dedicated Mom and “Nonny” who supported and cheered on her kids and grandkids in all their activates.
Christy was a devoted cardiology nurse. She was extremely conscientious and would go the extra mile for her patients. She had a true love for helping people. She would work through lunch or after work to get her job finished.
Christy and Bobby shared a special love and bond for each other. Each of them put the interest of the other before their own. Even in her final days of pain, her concern was for Bobby and their children. Her family takes comfort in knowing she had a love and close relationship with her Lord and Savior.
The family would like to express their love and gratitude to Dr. Lash and his amazing staff at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center and the caring staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice and The Carpenter House.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Christy’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
