Christell Sepulvado Ebarb was born May 25, 1925 in Geneva, Texas to the late Wesley and Pearl Sepulvado. She graduated from Ebarb High School, where she excelled as Valedictorian. During World War II, Christell contributed to the war effort by working diligently at an ammunition plant in Minden, Louisiana.
Christell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her most important role came as homemaker. She had an unwavering love for her family and her home was always a place of joy. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed exploring new place. She had a passion for traveling and seeing the beauty of the world. She also liked working at Dillard's after her children left home, to keep busy.
She peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2024. She passed at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 99. She is now reunited with her husband, John D. Ebarb; son, Donald Raymond Ebarb; infant children, Mary Lu Ebarb and Frederick Lynn Ebarb; brothers, Leroy Sepulvado, Perkins Sepulvado and Arthur Sepulvado; sister, Lu Zindler and her parents. Christell's warm, loving, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Gary Ebarb and wife, Rita of Haughton, Louisiana; Daughters, Sandy Pencoe and husband, Glenn of Jemison, Alabama and Pamela Sumrall of Bossier City, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Shelly Mason, Jonathon Ebarb (Christina), Dustin Sumrall (Tiphanie), Sarah Gomez (Louis), and Stacy Ebarb; four great grandchildren, Cody Mason, Caroline Sumrall, Molly Kate Sumrall and John Ebarb; two step grandchildren, Jason and Aaron Borders; two sisters, Nellie Fox of Houston, Texas and Atrelle Tucker of Longview, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Christell will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, John in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating her service will be Father Duane Trombetta. Honoring her as pallbearers are Dustin Sumrall, Jonathan Ebarb, Dustin Phillips and Aaron Borders.
