Charles Douglas Evans, born February 22, 1930 in Grand Cane, Louisiana. He honorably served in the United States Navy. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Education and retired as a School Principal in Alaska.
Our Papa was our safe place, our counselor, and the only person we could call on in times of trouble. He was our first foundation in faith, the rock in our lives, and he was our best influencer for the Kingdom of God. Doug became the most influential person in all of our family's lives.
Father figure, scholar, dedicated mentor, trustworthy confidant, experienced worker, strong and resilient lifeline, joy in the midst of chaos. There is no compliment too much for the Man of God who helped shape us into who we all are today. His family's values, morals and life lessons can all be traced back to what he taught us and nothing will replace the joyful experiences he left us all with. A diamond in the rough, he was truly our Best Friend.
Doug went home to be his Lord on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the age of 94. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Belle Evans, father, John Theo Evans, brother, J.T. Evans Jr., and daughter, Cara Lynn Evans.
He is succeeded in life by his daughter, Aurelia Evans Couey; two granddaughters Natashia Parks and Candice Dykhoff; grandsons-in-law Brett Dean Sr. And Chadd Dykhoff; great-grandchildren, Aurelia Shelton, Brett Dean Jr., Evren and Kai Thompson, Afton Taylor, and Aurora Dykhoff; and great-great-grandchildren Autumn, Alexander, CJ, Ariana, Noah and Serenity.
