Bonnie Rae Sprout Graham was born September 25, 1942 in Tunkhannock, PA to Philip George and Almeda Adelaide Leslie Sprout. Bonnie was raised in a loving Christian home where faith in Christ was taught and modeled with great authenticity so it was very natural for Bonnie to love and trust Jesus as her Savior when she was a child. Bonnie and her siblings learned the selfless life of loving sacrifice as they all joined together to care for their brother, Clinton Leslie Sprout, who courageously fought a long battle with polio before passing in 1962. These formative years of faith and selfless sacrifice shaped Bonnie all the days of her life.
After graduating from high school Bonnie attended Bob Jones University where she met and later married Marshall Frank Graham and together they moved to Shreveport, LA. God blessed them with three very active boys who were the love of Bonnie’s life. Bonnie dedicated her life to serving the Lord in raising her three boys. Bonnie worked with the Caddo Paint Company and after her boys were raised she worked at C. E. Byrd High School for twenty-five years and with Home and Office Storage Company for almost nine years.
Bonnie’s life was one of quiet, selfless, sacrificial service to others for the glory of God. Her greatest joy was knowing that all three of her boys love and trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior and are raising her six grandchildren, whom she loved so much, to do the same. Perhaps one of the greatest displays of God’s glorious reconciliation in Bonnie’s life is the beautiful relationship she enjoyed with her former husband Marshall and his wife Becky Graham and their son Marshall Franklin (wife Sommer and sons Gibson and Jobe). By the transforming grace of Jesus Christ, Marshall, Becky and Bonnie raised their three boys together, worked together at Home and Office Storage Company, and worshiped together at Norris Ferry Community Church. Through many years of selfless sacrifice Bonnie and Becky put their own desires aside and cultivated a love for each other for the sake of their boys and for the glory of God. As a result God blessed Bonnie and Becky with an incredible friendship and love that brought glory and honor to God.
Bonnie was healed when she went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017, after a courageous eight-year battle with failing health. She is preceded in death by her brother Clinton Leslie Sprout (1962), her father Philip George Sprout (1979) and her mother Almeda Adelaide Leslie Sprout (1987). She is survived by one sister June Simpson (husband Ronnie); two brothers Gene Sprout (wife Sharman) and Lynn Sprout; and three sons with six grandchildren: John Leslie Graham (children Jonathon and Sophia); Kyle David Graham (wife Gae, children Christopher and Anna Claire); and Joel Tracy Graham (wife Danna, children Morgan Catherine and Madelyn).
A graveside service will be held at the Pavilion at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home at 3:00pm Tuesday May 16, 2017 with her son Rev. J. Tracy Graham of Norris Ferry Community Church officiating. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the loving staff at The Glen Retirement Center for your loving care and support of our mother.
