Billie Murrell Hale, USAF, Retired was born in the Montgomery, LA area on February 8, 1937, his parents were Ernest Murrell Hale and O’Leta Downs Hale. He went to be with his Lord Thursday, October 24, 2019 at his home.
Mr. Hale entered the Air Force shortly after graduating high school. He served his country for 23 years. Some of his favorite memories are the five years he spent in Alaska. After retiring from the Air Force he later worked for the City of Shreveport. There he was a computer programmer and designed the 911 System,.
Mr. Hale loved his Lord, he was a member of Shreveport Community Church for 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
Mr. Hale is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Murrell Hale; mother, O’Leta Downs Hale Bowie; daughter, Theresa (Terri) Hale Youngblood; and two siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Hale; sons, Michael Hale and wife Lisa of Nashville, TN and Darren Hale and wife Karen of Wolcott, CT; daughter, Donna (DeDee) Hale Antee and husband David of Montgomery, LA; children, Lisa Ducote and husband Darrell of Shreveport and Glen Hanson and wife Angela of Shreveport; four other children; twenty three grandchildren; thirty five great-grandchildren; four siblings; and many other relatives and friends
A service celebrating the life of Billie Murrell Hale will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019, 2:30 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Opbroek . Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
