She was born July 19, 1924 in Shreveport, Louisiana to James and Alma Herrington. Betty attended Panola Jr. College in Carthage, Texas. She spent most of her career in real estate office administration.
Betty was known a "Mother" to her sons and "Amma" to her grandchildren. She loved us all. She enjoyed music (especially country and gospel) and loved meeting and talking to people. Betty made many friends over her long and fruitful life.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ronald W. Brown and D. Randall Brown and grandchildren Richard Brown (Leigh), Shannon Wicklund (Aaron), and Erin Hanson(Kurt). Also great-grandchildren Andrew, Daniel and Anna Brown, Hunter Hanson, Walker and Weslynn Wicklund, niece and nephew Russell Turner and Janet Boyett.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister, Jeanne Turner, daughters in law Judith Brown and Sandra Brown, and husband Walter L. Hunter. Also most other relatives of her generation.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Hunter Hanson, Walter Wickland, Louis Leonards and others will be determined later. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Sam Mason.
