Arthur loved to give a laugh and was known as A.J. which stood for “always joking”. He loved coffee and pastries.
He served his country in both the Navy and Army and worked in the kitchen as both a baker and a cook. He was an early riser to get others up and out of the ranks. He was also a Marksman and a Sharpshooter in the military, understood authority, and served with care and was honorably discharged. He went on to land a career with KCS Railroad as an engineer and retired after 30 years.
Arthur loved people and his family. He was a talker who loved telling about the past and he loved his home. He was baptized in the river in Gillham, AR as a small boy and continued to follow his step of faith as a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church.
If Arthur shared a good joke with you, pass it on.
He who passes on goes to a place that brings healing, peace and love and no pain. So here’s to you, Dad, Arthur, friend until we meet again.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
“He has made everything beautiful in his time; also he has set the world in their heart so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”
