Amy Sue Coates, 63, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023. Services for Mrs. Coates will be Friday, May 26, 2023 beginning at 2pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior from 1pm until 2pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow services at Centuries Memorial Park. Services will officiated by Father Raney Johnson.
Honoring Amy as pallbearers will be Kalob Coates, James Murray, Dylan Murray and Kason Coates.
Amy enjoyed a number of things in her life. Most of those being related to arts and crafts, she and her husband even ran a small business selling their work centered around her creative drawings. Her creativity even extended outside! She loved plants and flowers and had a knack for keeping anything alive. Above all else Amy loved her family, sending time with her loved ones took top priority in her life.
Amy joins in Heaven her father, James "Hamp" Sanders, Jr.; and brother, James Hampton Sanders III.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Terry Coates; son, Kevin Coates and wife, Katrina; daughters Stacy Coates and Shanna Coates; grandchildren Kalob Coates, James Murray, Dylan Murray, Kason Coates, Raine Hudnall, and Kylie Coates; mother, Ann Gandy; step-mother, Ruby Sanders; siblings Sandra Torres and husband, John, Sherry Cordaro and husband, Emile, Paul Sanders, Larry Hardy and wife, Agatha; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, and long-time best friend Phyllis Adams-Carlos.
The family would like offer a special thanks to Willis Knighton Cancer Facility and Heart of Hospice Staff for all the wonderful care they provided.
