Leona C. Meyer

Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 pm at the church.

Leona was born on August 27, 1912 in Shiner Texas. She was the daughter of Rudolph and Wilhelma “Minnie” (Haas) Seidenberger. Leona married Leo T. Meyer in Shiner, Texas at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church on November 22, 1937. She enjoyed going to dances with her husband, Leo. She liked to sew and quilt, and play dominoes. Leona liked to raise a vegetable garden and can what she grew. She enjoyed traveling with the family. She owned a liquor/package store for 25 years, then she worked for Quality Pharmacy for 20 years. Leona was a member of the Alter Society, Catholic Daughters for more than 50 years, and she was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Leona is survived by one son; Robert Meyer and his wife, Ann of Shiner, Texas, three granddaughters; Tracy Jalufka and her husband, Mark of Shiner, Texas, Leslie LaBounty and her husband, Michael of Katy, Texas, Amanda Meyer of Los Angeles, California, four great-grandsons; Jake Robert Jalufka, Cole William Jalufka, Andrew LaBounty, Collin LaBounty, two great-granddaughters; Madison Jalufka, Jamie Jalufka, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Rudolph and Minnie Seidenberger, her loving husband; Leo Meyer, three brothers; Adolph Seidenberger, Leon Seidenberger, Henry Seidenberger, two sisters; Anne Seidenberger, and Ella Seidenberger.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Meyer will be; Mark Jalufka, Jake Robert Jalufka, Cole William Jalufka, Michael LaBounty, Andrew LaBounty, and Collin LaBounty.
