Helen was youngest and last surviving child of a pioneer Shiner, TX family who settled in the late 19th Century. She graduated from St. Ludmila Academy in Shiner and West Texas State University in San Angelo and was a professional administrative assistant during the 40's and 50's. Her younger son, Frank, and wife Lorraine, survive her. She is also survived by step-grandchildren Brandon and Blake Jankins.
She was preceded in death by parents Franz Joseph and Anna (Riha) Tasler, brothers Edward, John, Frank Jr., Joe, Norbert, Edgar and sister, Annie Laurie. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The Daniel family wishes to thank The Village at Incarnate Word and St. Francis Nursing Home of San Antonio for her final care and a very special thank you to Rosemary Cisneros.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Arc of San Antonio, 13430 West Avenue in San Antonio, TX 78216.
