Erlene Werner Kram, 96, of Shiner, died Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her residence. A native of Moulton, Erlene has lived in Shiner for 65 years and was owner/operator of Werner Floral and Gift Shop, and was past County Commissioner Pct. 3 of Lavaca County.
Erlene enjoyed working with cattle, her flowers, and spending time with her family. Erlene was a longtime faithful member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. A Mass of Christian Burial with Father Bryan Heyer officiating, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner. Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited and led by Deacon Dennis Kutach at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner.
Erlene was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin Werner and Marvin Kram, parents, Walter and Ola Leazer Kaiser, and her brother, Edward Kaiser, and son-in-law Dennis Machart. Erlene is survived by her sons, Stephen J. Werner and his wife Patty, Robert Werner and wife Susan all of Shiner, daughters, Doris Wauson and husband Gary of Yoakum, Linda Machart of Shiner, and her sister-in-law Bennie Lou of Shiner, and fifteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Erlene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
